For a period of time I combined making art with running a market garden. Growing vegetables with regard for nature and supplying local restaurants. In search for a durable solution for growing food, small scale market gardening has seen a worldwide increase. These prints are inspired by my experience of farming. They show contemporary market gardeners working against the backdrop of the Frisian landscape and are printed in the water based Japanese woodblock technique.
The traditional tools to produce these works were purchased with support of the Tijl Fund
