Slidingdoor (2023) | Waterbased woodblock print on handmade kozo paper | 28,5 x 39cm
To deepen my understanding of Japanese woodblock printing I participated in the Advanced Program at the Mokuhanga Innovation LAB. The original artist in residency was founded by Keiko Kadota after she visited Crown Point Press in the nineties and was inspired to create a center for Mokuhanga knowledge. I studied and worked here for five weeks, after which I continued working on these prints at the printworkshop of Mokuhanga expert and publisher David Bull in Tokyo.
This working period was supported by the Mondriaan Fund and the Dutch Embassy
