During the summer and fall of 2023 I visited Japan to study traditional Japanese woodblock printing and to make drawings of Fukuoka farm. To capture my impressions I brought an Ipad with a digital pencil. This gave me freedom to quickly jot down shapes and colours, even in challenging circumstances like rain or in the dark. The result is a series of 65 digital drawings and many more sketches ranging from city to the countryside. From Tokyo, to the zen gardens of Kyoto, to rice farmers in Iyo Shikoku.
